Kuruvi Bird Boxes
Inspired from little birds or 'kuruvi', this is a set of 2 unique hand-crafted wooden boxes. Can be used to store various knick-knacks like pins, buttons, tablets , rubber-bands, etc or even dry-fruits. Each piece has been pain stakingly hand-crafted by artisans from Channapatna using the traditional lacquer ware turning technique. The colours used are traditional non-toxic vegetable colours. Ideal as gifts on any occasion.
Each of these products is painstakingly handcrafted from delicate wood. Please note that it’s normal to find some minor variations in the texture or appearance of the wood. This in fact adds to the uniqueness and charm of each piece and makes it different from a mass-produced product.
Specific Instructions: Handle with Care. To clean use a mildly damp piece of clean cloth.
Designer Profile: Varnam (meaning 'colours') is an ode to India and it's rich cultural heritage . It's an initiative that works works closely with artisans in Karnataka to revisit traditional crafts in a contemporary setting. Each product has been painstakingly handcrafted by artisans whose passion for their art is inspiring. Karthik hopes to provide a sustainable living to the artisans with his initiative.
